About

Pablo Alvarez was born in the Almagro neighborhood of Buenos Aires. He dedicated himself to studying sculptural arts which was how he first came in contact with Tango. The quality of the movements, the physical language of the Tango and the way human beings interlink, dance and play in the social dance of the milongas, captivated him in such a way that from his first class he devoted himself to studying it deeply to this day.

Since 2000, he has trained with a large number of prominent teachers who have given him a wide knowledge both in social dance and in stage tango dancing. He has developed an understanding of both the “old guard” of tango and influences of nuevo and what continues to develop beyond it, which gives him a great versatility and creativity in both dance and teaching.

For many years he worked in different legendary Tango houses, theatres and companies with which he traveled through Europe and South America. Pablo has danced as featured exhibiton in various Milongas in Buenos Aires and around the world with a multitude of recognized dancers.

His teaching reflects the broad knowledge of body movement, social and scenographic dance, and how to use the language of Tango for a greater connection when dancing.

About

Lya began her dance journey as a child in Zürich, Switzerland, with ballet and jazz classes, and then, on a trip to Tunisia as a teenager, she fell in love with Oriental Dance which she danced professionally for years. On a trip to Argentina in 2009, she encountered tango for the first time and in 2012 she moved to Argentina to study the dance in depth.
Lya obtained what she would call a transcendental transformation during the 5 years in which she was on the teaching and performance team of DNI Tango School in Buenos Aires. Her time on the team included presentations and participations in professional stage tango shows with the Company DNI Tango, directed by Dana Frígoli and Melina Brunfman, exhibited in Milongas in Buenos Aires and abroad and the delivering of innumerable hands-on tango classes for multitudes of students. Thanks to that and her extensive knowledge of other disciplines related to dance, such as yoga training (certified 500 CYT) and biomechanics (which still continues), she has been able to combine, simplify and deepen the concepts these subjects share.
Based on this, she developed the Dance Your Flow Classes, which integrates tango and dance concepts into a yoga class framework, where she works on body awareness, the healthy execution of movement and the use of gravity to facilitate efficient use of body movement within the unique shared physical language that is Tango.
